Our goal at The LivHealth Charitable Foundation (LCF) is to ensure reliable and equitable access to high-quality home palliative medicine and hospice care for our nation. We also aim to promote palliative medicine education, advocacy, and training for our community.
Our team has been witness to immeasurable suffering, due to financial disparity and lack of access to palliative resources. In order to achieve our goal of bridging the gap of medical equality, The LivHealth Charitable Foundation (LCF) was created.
Did you know that in 2014, the World Health Organization (WHO) called standardized access to palliative care “a basic human right”? It is evident with Trinidad and Tobago’s aging population that the need for palliative medicine will grow increasingly important. LivHealth offers both palliative services and hospice care to our community. The term “Palliative Medicine” is very commonly misunderstood and is often confused with hospice care. Palliative Medicine is not hospice care; it is a form of specialized medical care provided to any one, at any age, or at any stage, of a serious illness that focuses on quality of life. LivHealth also provides home hospice care for persons at the end of life. In this field of medicine, we often see suffering; but to pair financial suffering with medical suffering is a marriage we never want to have to bear witness to.
LivHealth is currently working to build a home-based community palliative medicine service here in Trinidad & Tobago, and our overarching goal has always been to provide equitable palliative care for our nation. Hence The LivHealth Charitable Foundation is intended to bridge the gap, where we can support patients that are in need of home palliative medicine but do not have the means to afford it. As Trinbagonians, we are proud of our sense of community within our islands. Together we can serve the palliative community and our local medical system; and by extension, our beloved nation.

- Grief therapy support sessions for children who have lost a parent due to illness
- Counseling support sessions to patients and their family members, to help them cope with this journey

Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are an indispensable part of our family and we are inspired by their example.
Out of kindness and compassion, they help us care for families during their time of greatest need.
Some volunteers work directly with patients and families while others help in our office or fundraising events. Many offer their professional skills, such as weekly drives, hairdressing, music, art or pet therapy.
Student volunteers (16 and older) are also welcome.
